Here are some general highlights of playing in the Mosquito division: 

·        6 innings per game, unless shortened because of darkness.

·        Maximum 2 runs in the first two innings. Final inning is open. Maximum 4 runs in all other innings. 

·        Pitchers may pitch a maximum of 3 innings per day and 6 innings per week. A pitcher must have 2 nights rest after pitching 3 innings in a day. A 9-year-old (1997) player must pitch the first two innings.

·        Runner may not lead off until the pitch crosses home plate.

·        Base stealing is allowed.

·        Head-first slides are not allowed except for dive backs.

·        The batter is out on a dropped third strike; however, the ball is live with less than 3 out.

·        Bunting is allowed.

·        60 feet between bases and 46 feet from pitching rubber to home plate.
